Happy Birthday Unravelling!

Unravelling, my first novel, is six years old!

Although I’ve published two more novels since then, I find it almost impossible to believe that this journey started six years ago. Copies of Unravelling on Launch Day:Display of Unravelling

Since then Unravelling has done some wonderful things – lots of people have bought it; it’s garnered some lovely reviews; book groups have enjoyed it, and it’s been taken out of libraries. I’ve got no idea how many people have read it because so many people have told me that they passed it on to their sister, or auntie or granny.

And then there are the awards! It came second in the International Rubery Book Award. Here’s a photo of me with my elegant plaque (no sign of the rather nice cheque!):

Second prize Rubery Book Award

It won the Chapter One Promotions Independent Book Award (gaining another nice cheque), and the Wishing Shelf Independent Book Award, adult fiction category. No cheque this time, but voted for by readers, which meant a lot.Emblem WINNERThank you, Unravelling, for all the success and fun. How much richer my life has been because of you. Happy birthday!

  1. Robin Heaney says:

I was there, and my niece is called Cordelia Heaney!
Lindsay – you say that Unravelling has been taken out of libraries. Is this a Lady Chatterly thing?

  2. Lindsay says:

Are you suggesting a link between Unravelling and Lady Chatterley, Robin?!
The Cordelia Heaney link is interesting, especially as I had no idea your niece is called that, and Cordelia is quite an unusual name.

  3. Robin Heaney says:

No Lindsay. Taken out (as in removed and banned) rather than borrowed.

  4. Polly says:

Happy Birthday to Unravelling – seems unbelievable that it’s six years old – congratulations, Lindsay 🙂

  5. Lindsay says:

I see what you mean, Robin – sorry to be a bit dense. Yes, it should be borrowed!

  6. Lindsay says:

Thanks, Polly. Your support is lovely, and much appreciated.
