Launch Day minus 8 weeks

The launch for ‘The Piano Player’s Son’ is only eight weeks away!

After waiting so long – the book won the Cinnamon Press Novel Award in early 2012 – I can hardly believe the date is almost here:

25th October 6.30-8, St Swithun’s Institute, Worcester.

As I wrote a very rough first draft even before I’d started ‘Unravelling’, which came out in 2010, you can see that the birth of this particular baby has been a long time coming!

The launch of ‘Unravelling’ was a wonderful occasion, and I can’t help feeling anxious that I might not achieve something similar this time round. But I hope that’s just my pessimistic streak rearing its ugly head!

And there won’t only be me and the novel on parade. I’ve got a very entertaining poetic duet, a band with a wonderful singer, and a special piano performance lined up. Well, you can’t launch ‘The Piano Player’s Son’ without the piano making an appearance!

I’ve got to organise invitations and settle the small final details. But otherwise 25th October, here we come. Hope some of you will be there will be there with me to help celebrate in ‘the birth’!
