Fantasy or self-help?
Last Saturday was the publishing seminar run by Stephanie Hale of Oxford Literacy Consultancy. It was a really good day – long and intense – but I came away with some new ideas for promoting Unravelling. I haven’t put any of them into practice yet! But lots of food for thought.
I met some interesting people there, and it was good to spend time with a group, all involved in some aspect of the creative process.
What struck me was that the majority of the men were writing either fantasy or thriller novels, and the women self-help books. I wonder what that says about our culture and gender identities?!
