I’m also working on another novel ‘The Piano Player’s Son’. The themes that interest me − families and the relationships that can both support and strangle − are present again in this novel.

Short Stories

I’ve been a prizewinner in various short story competitions and in September 2009 Cinnamon Press published The Magic of Stories in an anthology entitled ‘Storm at Galesburg and other stories’, available from Cinnamon Press and Amazon .

Three of my short stories, Feeding the Cat, Garden of Antipathy and The Young Man with the Nose Ring and Gloria, will also be published by Cinnamon Press in April 2011. Feeding the Cat is the title story of the anthology. More news on this soon.

My stories have also been short-listed in major competitions, such as the Fish Short Story Prize and the Asham Award for Women Writers.

 

  • This is the story of Vanessa and Gerald, who fall in love in the sixties when she is an art student and he a sculptor. They marry, have children, divorce, have other lovers, meet again with tragic consequences, but never stop loving each other.
